Around 400 colleges across India offer architecture courses

Ranchi, Nov 16: Around 400 colleges across India, including IIT and NIT, are offering architecture courses for engineering students. According to the latest data, the number of colleges affiliated with the Council of Architecture has gone up from 385 in 2015 to 404 in 2022.

Architecture used to be seen as a career reserved for elite-class students. The need for experts in this subject has grown, nevertheless, as urbanisation has accelerated. Students from a variety of backgrounds and socioeconomic levels are now enrolling in this course in increasing numbers.
