Hazaribag, Nov.16: A resident of Kaura village in Pratappur block in Chatra district committed a robbery in a jewellery shop in the national capital Delhi last Friday (Nov 11).
Identified as Chotu Rajak, the robber escaped from there and reached his village. A team of Delhi police sub-inspector Jogesh Kumar conducted a raid in Kaura arresting Rajak today and recovering around 2 kg of gold from his possession.
Chatra SDPO Avinash Kumar said the robbery took place on Friday in Siddhi Jewellery situated near Chandani Chowk in Delhi. Owner Manoj Jaiswal lodged an FIR suspecting the hands of his two employees including Chotu. He said that two kg of gold were taken away by the duo.
Chatra superintendent of police after getting information from Delhi police alerted the Pratappur team due to which, Chotu didn’t get time to escape.
While probing the case, police found out that Chotu is living in his village and contacted the Chatra police. A raid was carried out and Chotu was nabbed from his house with 330 pairs of gold earrings weighing 854 grams and 29 gold necklaces of 1,036 grams.
