New Delhi, Sept 28: Asok Gehlot may meet with Congress president Sonia Gandhi this afternoon, following a rebellion by his supporters in Rajasthan ahead of the party’s presidential election.

For his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, the chief minister of Rajasthan is anticipated to fly into Delhi at around 2:00 p.m. This occurs a day after the party gave three of his supporters notice for orchestrating a rebellion by Rajasthan MLAs.

In response to rumours that competitor Sachin Pilot would succeed Ashok Gehlot as Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Gehlot, who may compete for Congress president, had threatened to resign as a group on Sunday.

Notably, on Sunday MLAs threatened to resign en masse over reports that Ashok Gehlot, who may run for Congress president, would be replaced as Chief Minister of Rajasthan by his rival Sachin Pilot.
