Hangzhou, Oct 5: The women’s Indian archery compound team, which included Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand, and Parneet Kaur, won the gold medal on Thursday at the Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Jyothi, Aditi, and Parneet secured a gold medal by besting the team from Chinese Taipei, comprised of Yi-Hsuan Chen, I-Jou Huang, and Lu-Yun Wang, with a score of 230-229.
Chinese Taipei’s opponents put up a valiant battle and prevailed in the opening set by a score of 54–56, but India took control of the rest of the competition to earn the second archery gold medal.
