Hangzhou, Oct 4: Neeraj Chopra successfully defended his javelin crown at the Asian Games by clinching gold while rising star Kishore Jena took home the silver medal in a thrilling final that was orchestrated by two Indians.
A day after Annu Rani won the gold medal in the women’s javelin, the national stadium in Hangzhou witnessed India’s tremendous development in the sport as Neeraj and Jena competed for Gold and Silver in the 12-man field.
At the halfway point of the men’s javelin final, Kishore was in the lead after recording a personal best of 87.54 meters.
Nevertheless, Neeraj Chopra remained focused on the task at hand. He successfully retained his title at the Asian Games with an outstanding throw of 88.88 meters, marking his best performance of the season.
