Hangzhou, Oct 3: Taking home the coveted gold medal in the 5000-metre run at the Asian Games 2023, Parul Chaudhary has made India proud.
Parul Chaudhary achieved a remarkable feat at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou by securing a Silver medal in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, followed by a historic Gold in the women’s 5000m race final, surpassing Japan’s Ririka Hironaka.
Parul Chaudhary completed her race in 15 minutes and 14.75 seconds, leaving Ririka Hironaka surprised as she made a swift move past her in the last few meters from the left. Chaudhary’s calculated strategy of conserving energy for that final push proved to be the key to her success.
India currently has 64 medals overall in the 2023 Asian Games after winning its 14th gold.
