Guwahati, June 26: Six new projects for the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Assam and Department of Medical Education and Research were officially launched on Monday in Guwahati by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
During a ceremony held at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) auditorium in Guwahati, the Assam chief minister officially opened the projects in the presence of the state’s health minister, Keshab Mahanta.
“The ICU project, a state-of-the-art laboratory at Guwahati Medical College Hospital and multipurpose research project were officially dedicated to the public today as an important step towards improving health services in the state,” CM Biswa said.
The National Emergency Life Support Skill Centre, GMCH; the Molecular Oncology Lab, State Cancer Institute, GMCH; the Multidisciplinary Research Unit, GMCH; the 32 Slice CT Scan Machine and the Asset Management Portal for Medical Colleges were all opened by the Assam Chief Minister.
