Bajali, June 23: Assam’s Bajali district is still experiencing severe flooding, which has affected over 2.61 lakh people in 196 villages.

Several villages in the Pathsala region have been flooded by the flood water of Pahumara River.

All patients were transferred to different hospitals on Friday after Swahid Madan Rauta Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital in Pathsala was submerged by floodwaters.

On the other hand, the Pahumara River’s flood waters at Medhikuchi village have burst a significant piece of the embankment and have washed away a number of houses.

The impacted villagers are currently finding refuge on highways, embankments and mountains.

297.30 hectares of crops in the Bajali district have reportedly been submerged by floodwaters, according to sources.

On the other hand, a bridge in Tamulpur, Assam’s Kumarikata neighbourhood was harmed by the floodwaters.

On Thursday, the Madati River’s floodwaters in the Kokrajhar district of Assam washed down a wooden bridge in the Gossaigaon region.
