Assam: Seven dead, 12 injured in road mishap in Tinsukia

Tinsukia, Sept 6: Police said on Wednesday that a traffic accident in Tinsukia, Assam, late at night resulted in at least seven fatalities and 12 injuries.

The event happened late on Tuesday night in the Kakopathar region when a fast truck struck a Tata Magic carrying people.

Seven people perished in the event, Bibhas Das, Additional Superintendent of Police of Tinsukia district said.

“A total of 12 persons were injured in the incident and they were rushed to hospital. We have detained the truck driver,” Bibhas Das said.
