Guwahati, Oct 17: Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF) arrested three drug peddlers, including a man from Manipur, on Tuesday as they discovered and seized 60,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 15 crore in Guwahati.
Following a covert mission at Six Mile in the Khanapara area, in front of Rahman Hospital in Guwahati, the operation was carried out, and the arrest was made as a result.
The STF DIG Partha Sarathi Mahanta said, “Based on secret information, a team of STF led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kalyan Pathak launched an operation at Six Mile, Khanapara area in front of Rahman Hospital in Guwahati and apprehended three drug peddlers including one from Manipur and two locals.”
“The STF team recovered and seized 60,000 Yaba tablets in possession from them. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 15 crore,” he added.
