Ranchi, Feb 8: As many as 600 patients are getting the benefit of free treatment and suggestions from the doctors of Atal Mohalla Clinic opened at 12 different locations in the capital city daily.
Taking a rough survey of the Atal Mohalla Clinics across the city, it was found that people are visiting in large numbers to the clinics to get their check-up done that too totally free of cost.
With the manpower of 4 including one doctor, two nurses and one supporting staff, these Atal Mohalla Clinics are proving to be a great benefit for those who do not have money for the treatment.
The clinics at present are working from 8 am to 12 pm daily except Wednesday, which is designated as weekly off for the staff of the clinic.
The 12 Atal Mohalla Clinics are:

· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Karbala Chowk
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Bandhgadi, Khelgaon
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Bharamtoli, Bariatu
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Tiril, Kokar
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, TV tower, Ratu Road
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Rankatoli, Pandra
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Siramtoli
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Kalyanpur, Hatia
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Gogopahar, behind Manya Palace
· Atal Mohalla Clinic, Hathiya Gonda, Kanke Road
Dr. Niral Sanga, in charge of Atal Mohalla Clinic Kantatoli, said that opening more such clinics will help to reduce the burden on Sadar Hospital and RIMS and the patient will get the treatment besides their home itself.
Dr. JK Sharma, in charge of Atal Mohalla Clinic Karbala Chowk, said that about 50-60 patients visit the clinic daily. He said, “We can also refer them to different hospitals in case the condition of the patient cannot be handled by the clinic.”
Dr. Shankar Ranjan, in charge of Atal Mohalla Clinic Lower Vardhman Compound, said that people are getting treated here and free medicines are also provided here which is benefitting a large section of the society.
“With the opening of Atal Clinic near our home, it has become easy for us to get the checkup done for which earlier we had to travel to RIMS which is nearly 10 Km from my home,” Rekha who had visited the clinic for BP checkup, resident of Kantatoli said.
In an endeavour to boost the healthcare delivery system in cities, the Jharkhand Government had started Atal Mohalla Clinic in different parts of the State. Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das on 16 August 2019 inaugurated the clinic on the occasion of the first death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
