Dhanbad, Sept 22: The Deoghar district administration has issued a new website link (darshan.babadham.org) for booking entry passes for ‘darshan’ of Baba Baidyanath temple from today. This step has been taken for the convenience of the devotees.
As per the state government order, the Babadham temple opened for the devotees on September 18. But due to a snag in the state government’s website ( jharkhanddarshan.nic.in), entry passes for the temple could not be issued. This resulted in thousands of devotees returning from the temple gate without getting ‘darshan’ of Baba Baidyanath.
To tackle this problem, the Deoghar district administration launched the new website at the local level for booking passes of temple entry on Tuesday night. “Now after getting the entry pass through the new website, devotees can do darshan of Baba Baidyanath from today,” said Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri.
Though thousands of devotees from different states visit Deoghar for darshan of Baba Baidyanath daily, in wake of Covid-19 protocol, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has fixed 10 hours (6 am to 4 pm) in a day for darshan of general devotees only. Officials informed that an entry pass is issued only for 10,000 devotees (1000 in one hour) only to maintain the Covid-19 protocol. However, several devotees complain that the new website didn’t work early in the morning despite repeated attempts and they were deprived of the darshan of Baba Baidyanath due to lack of an entry pass.
The Deputy Commissioner has ordered the concerned authorities to make maximum people aware of the new website so that they don’t face any difficulties in getting the ‘darshan’ of Baba Baidyanath. “ We also request the devotees to follow Covid-19 guidelines and enter the temple only after getting an entry pass as no one would be allowed without e-pass,” he added.
