New Delhi, Nov 9: The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeal against the verdict of a Special CBI Court in Lucknow exonerating former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, BJP leaders Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, as well as several others, in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
Two Muslim inhabitants of Ayodhya’s appeal was denied by a jury consisting of Justices Ramesh Sinha and Saroj Yadav.
After the arguments were over on October 31, the Court had reserved its decision.
The Special CBI court’s 2020 ruling that there was no evidence to support a plan to destroy the Babri Masjid is being contested by Haji Mahboob Ahmad and Syed Akhlaq Ahmad, who both live in Ayodhya.
According to the appeal, they were both witnesses and sufferers of the destruction of their iconic place of worship, the Babri Masjid. They said they lost money as a result of their homes being destroyed by arson, looting, etc.
Syed Farman Ali Naqvi, assisted by Najam Zafar, represented the appellants. The CBI was represented by Advocate Shiv P Shukla, and the State was represented by Advocate Vimal Kumar Srivastava.
