Ranchi, March 2: Custodial death of a loot case accused Debu Turi in Sahibganj continues to give BJP an opportunity to attack the law and order of Jharkhand.
This was reflected as former chief minister and BJP legislature party chief Babulal Marandi organized a press conference at BJP state headquarters and expressed his concern over the death of a Dalit youth saying the Sahibganj is the same district from where the chief minister is a legislator.
Demanding immediate dismissal of police officials responsible for custodial death besides compensation of Rs 50 lakh and a government to the deceased’s kin, Marandi said it was not for the first time police of the district are in the dock for their misdeed.
Earlier, he said, the police of the district, which has a direct connection with the chief minister of the state, has also hogged the limelight for its misdeed. He presented the suspicious death of lady sub-inspector Rupa Tirkey and the reluctance of police to register a case in the matter of gang rape and murder as examples.
“When law order of the district directly associated with the chief minister is so poor one can easily imagine the situation of other districts like Garhwa and East Singhbhum,” Marandi said.
