Ranchi, March 24: A Special examination is to be held for the children of classes three to seven studying in government schools in the state. About 26 lakh students studying in these classes will appear in the offline examination that is to be held in schools after two years of closure due to the pandemic.
Notably, due to Covid 19 in 2020 and 2021, the students were promoted to the next class without examination, which did not allow educators to check the levels of students. As a result, studies in schools have been affected in the last two years. In such a situation, the state government decided that after the school opens, an examination will be taken to assess the educational level of the children.
The Jharkhand Education Project Council has issued guidelines in this regard. As per the guidelines, the exam is to be held on March 31. The examination of the students of class 5th to 7th will be taken on OMR sheets and the examination of students of classes third and fourth will be taken in a written manner on answer sheets.
Director of Secondary Education Department Kiran Kumari Pasi said, “A total of 50 questions are to be asked from the students of class six and seven and 40 questions from the students of class three to five. The exam will be conducted in government schools as well as government aided schools. The responsibility of evaluation will be on the District Education Officer of the concerned district.”
The exam will be of three hours and will begin from 9:00 am in a total of 32752 schools. After two years of Covid, this will be the biggest examination at a school level to be held in the state so far.
Total number of kids in respective classes set to attend the exams will include 556421 from class three, 510354 from class four, 561545 from class five, 488832 from class six and 485087 students will appear in class seven.
