Baharagoda, June 25: The passenger shed collapsed after a tanker number WB 29 A 8919 loaded with Alkatra collided with it located on the side of National Highway No. 49 near Khandamouda Chowk in the Barsol police station area at around 7:00 am on Sunday morning.
Two including an old woman died and two people were injured in this accident. The dead woman, man and two injured people have been identified. Both the injured have been referred to Baripada from Community Health Center for better treatment.
Here, the villagers have blocked the highway at Khandamouda Chowk for five hours demanding the construction of an underpass (flyover) and compensation. Officials of Bahragora and Barsol police stations are present at the spot and are trying to convince the villagers. The deceased woman has been identified as Bale Munda (55 years) of Fulbediya village and the deceased man has been identified as Tapan Kumar Tripathi (47 years) of Khamar village. While the injured Kartik Munda, 24, from Patpur-Mahakudiya and Bhim Khamrai, 27, is from Saljhatiya village.
