Ranchi, June 30: Presenting an example of professional policing, Jharkhand police in Bokaro cracked a case of robbery within 24 hours after the crime. The police arrested as many as four robbers and criminals involved in the broad day bank loot and recovered an amount of Rs 22 lakh cash from their possession. Apart from this,  the police also recovered as many as four firearms used in the crime from their possession.

Though officially the information is expected to be confirmed by 6pm, police sources said the result came after regular coordinated effort of the police.

“With the arresting of four now we have to find out the rest two. With the recovery of Rs 22 lakh cash, we will now find out Rs 18 lakh more. It is expected that the assignment will be completed soon,” a police official informing about the incident on the condition of anonymity said.

Asked regarding the co-ordinated effort, the official said: “CCTV footage collected from the bank helped a lot.”

On Wednesday around 1.30am, six armed miscreants entered the Jodhadih More branch of Indian Bank in Bokaro district and decamped with approximately Rs 40 lakh cash. The robbers committed the robbery before they injured the security guard and confined all the bank employees in a washroom.

It was a 30-minute operation, which came into the public’s knowledge after the robbers escaped and bank employees managed to come out from the washroom after breaking open the washroom door to sound an alarm.

The robbers also attempted to take the digital video recorder of the CCTV but failed.
