Daltonganj, Nov 9: The Barkakana -Varanasi passenger special train will resume its operation from November 10, according to the East-Central Railway, Hajipur.
The resumption of this special 12-coach train is to clear the ‘extra rush’ in the wake of the Chhath festival. As per the official note, both Up and Down services will be available for only a week. It starts on November 10 and will have its final down journey on November 18.
Railway authorities have asked the respective zonal authorities to give ‘priority’ to this train ‘equal to regular super fast express mail, passenger trains’.
The importance of this special train running on time has been emphasised, and in the case of a detention, full detention details should be relayed to Emergency Control Hajipur.
Railway authorities have also been asked to enforce Covid management protocol strictly.
The fare for this train will be of unreserved express booking as mentioned in the railway note.
Station superintendent of Daltonganj railway station, A K Tiwary said, “We wish this passenger special train gets good occupancy in this one week as then the chances of it becoming a regular train from Barkakana to Varanasi will increase.”
