Having seen his seniority, dedication and experience, the first regular vice-chancellor (VC) of BBMKU Dr Anjani Kumar Srivastava made him the Dean of Science in 2018.
Dr Sinha was considered a man of principle who never compromised his dignity for the post. In 2019, he resigned as the Dean of Science over a controversy over the admission of students. A senior official of the university said that Dr Sinha allowed the admission of some students to vacant seats in the commerce department on the recommendation of Prof. Ajit Kumar.
Some teachers of the university made it an issue and reportedly VC Dr Srivastava also opposed his decision. Dr Sinha resigned duly. In his support, the then registrar of BBM KU Dr SKL Das, who had recommended the admission, also resigned. Sources said the then-Pro-VC AK Mahto had also supported Dr Sinha.
