Bharat Bandh: ECR cancels 34 trains crossing through Dhanbad-Gomoh stations

Dhanbad, June 20: In wake of the Bharat Bandh call of Agnipath Scheme protesters, the East Central Railway (ECR) Hajipur zone has today (June 20) cancelled 18 Express and passengers trains crossing through the Dhanbad rail division.

Meanwhile, Dhanbad police along with RPF and GRP have turned Dhanbad railway station into a fort by blocking all entrance roads and lanes by deploying heavy security personnel. Senior Superintend of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar said that barricading has been done to stop agitators from entering the station from a safety point of view. Besides it, security personnel has been deployed at all centre points in the district to maintain a normal situation.

The senior officers of the Dhanbad rail division informed that besides cancelling trains, the ECR has also rescheduled the timing of long route trains that cross from the Dhanbad railway station. Four trains that generate from Howrah and Sealdah (Kolkata) would arrive in Dhanbad in the late evening today.

As per the revised schedule of long route trains, 12371 Howrah – Bikaner Express that is scheduled to start from Howrah at 8.15 am would today start at 5 pm from Howrah and reach Dhanbad in the night.

13151 Kolkata – Jammu Tawi Express scheduled to start from Howrah at 11.45 am would today kick start at 3 pm and reach Dhanbad at night.

13025 Howrah- Bhopal Express has a scheduled time of starting 12.35 pm from Howrah would start today at 2.35 pm and reach Dhanbad at night.

22317  Sealdah – Jammu Tawi Humsafar Express that has scheduled timing of starting from Sealdah at 1.10 pm today would start at 4 pm and reach Dhanbad at night.

The trains that have been cancelled today in the wake of Bharat Bandh are:

  • Up and down Dhanbad- Dehri-On-Sone Intercity
  • Up and Down Dhanbad- Patna Intercity
  • Up and down Dhanbad-Patna Ganga Damodar
  • Up and Down Hatia-Purnia Court
  • Up and Down Patna–Hatia Janshatabdi
  • Patna- Hatia Patliputra Express
  • Islampur–Hatia Express
  • Up and Down Varanasi-Asansol MEMU
  • Sasaram- Ranchi Express
  • Up and Down Gaya- Asansol MEMU
  • Gorakhpur–Hatia Maurya Express
