Patna, Dec 9: The Bihar IPS officer, Amit Lodha, who received praise after the premiere of the Netflix series ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter,’ has been accused of corruption and reportedly manipulating his position for financial benefit by the Bihar Police. He was suspended after a case was registered against him on charges of corruption and for allegedly entering into a commercial agreement with Netflix while being on a government post.

Lodha struck an agreement with the production company Friday Story Teller while he was an IPS officer, claims the Economic Offenses Wing of the Bihar Police. He allegedly agreed to a deal with the production company for Rs 1. However, according to the police, his wife’s account had a transaction for 49 lakh rupees.

According to sources in the police, some of the money in the wife’s account was deposited even before the agreement with the production house was decided.

Notably, the series ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ is the story of how a police officer caught a notorious gangster who had created a reign of terror in Sheikhpura of Bihar. The web series is based on Lodha’s book ‘Bihar Diaries: The True Story of How Bihar’s Most Dangerous Criminal Was Caught’.

Since being assigned to the position of Inspector General of Police in Gaya, according to the FIR filed against Lodha, Lodha has been making money ‘illegally.’
