BIT Sindri: Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering teams emerge champions

Dhanbad, Sept 4: Girls team of Computer Science and boys team of Electrical Engineering department emerged champion in the BIT Sindri inter-faculty tug of war  championship organized on the occasion of  National Sports Day.

The event was organized by BIT Sindri Students Sports Club. Boys and girls team of all faculties of the institution participated in the championship.

In the final, displaying superb strength, girls team of the Computer Science Engineering department under Mamta Soren in presence of thousands of students defeated the Electrical Engineering team to bag the champions trophy. Swetha Champia, Shital Kumari, Phulu Singh, Amisha Deep, Akansha Tigga, Nisha Kujur and Ruchi Minz were other members of the team.

In boys’ team exciting final match, the squad of Mechanical Engineering department   led by Suraj Prakash beat the Civil Engineering department. Raunak Singh, Fransis Kacchap, Yogesh  Marandi,Sunil Kumar, Shahil Singh, Ganesh Kumar, Sanat Sardar, Pratap Kumar and Ankit  Ballabh were other members of winning team.

In the final function, Sanjiv Gupta was chief guest. BIT Sindri director Dr Pankaj Roy,  senior faculty members Prof RK Verma, Dr Anil Kumar, Dr SP Mishra, and HoDs of different departments also  graced the occasion.

BIT Sindri Students Club president  Rahul Kumar expressed  satisfaction over the successful championship and highly praised  the participanting students for playing with sportsman spirit   Sports Club office bearers Shivaji, Tanu Priya, Ashish, Upasana, Navneet, Vivek, Akashdeep, Adarsh, Suman, Tejprakash, Manish, Aakanksha, Rahul Abhishek, Prince, Priya, Satish Puja, Priyanshu, Sachin, and Adarsh Singh played major role in conducting the championship successfully.
