BIT Sindri Hackathon seminar: Technocrats showcase innovative ideas

Dhanbad, May 10: The budding technocrats of BIT Sindri showcased their innovative ideas in a special Hackathon seminar on industry and challenges for young minds at BIT Sindri.

The Hackathon seminar was organized by Vedanta ESL Steel Limited Bokaro to introduce industry challenges and strengthen the relationship between industry and institute in a changing scenario.

The organizer said the objective of this seminar was to make young technocrats ( students) self-confident and value drivers in their upcoming journey from campus to the corporate world.

Neelima Sharma, chief digital officer of ESL Vedanta Steel Limited while addressing the seminar introduced digital techniques that can be applied to solve industry problems in unique and innovative ways. Neelima Sharma pointed out the problems being faced by the industry. She also shared valuable information regarding Hackathon.

The seminar discussed many pressing issues such as increasing production, facilities, security, skill management, maximum utilization of human resources, green technology, zero-emission, township facilities, complete digitalization, AI, IOT and data analysis.

Dr Ghanshyam, chairman of Career Development Centre  (CDC) BIT Sindri while addressing the seminar highly appreciated the step of  ESL Vedanta Steel Limited Bokaro for recognizing the ability and providing the platform to the students of the institution (BIT Sindri) to showcase their innovative ideas.

“ As the chairman of CDC BIT Sindri, I accept the challenges for the resolution of these urgent issues. I  assure Electro Steel Limited Vedanta management that students of BIT  would be able to solve the solutions pointed out”, said Prof Ghanshyam.

Dr Ghanshyam said that there can be no better opportunity to strengthen the relationship between industry and the institute.  He also gave special thanks to Nitesh Kumar Nirala, director of iron, power & BE, Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, Karuna Varsney (HR) and Suraj Lal Hansdah who provided guidance and support to the seminar.

The CDC chairman said credit also goes to BIT Sindri director Prof DK Singh for encouraging meaningful relationships between institution and industry and promoting the exchange of knowledge and technology. He also highly appreciated the coordinators of the seminar Rohit Singh Choudhary and Ritesh Kumar.
