New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized the INDIA bloc parties, particularly Rahul Gandhi, for repeatedly accusing the Modi government and the Election Commission of voter fraud. Addressing a press conference, BJP MP Sambit Patra alleged that the Congress, RJD, TMC, and AAP want to push India into chaos similar to what Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have witnessed.
BJP’s Counter to Opposition Allegations
Sambit Patra stated that the opposition wants to create complete disorder on India’s streets, but Indian citizens are wise and rooted in a civilization that spans thousands of years. He said the opposition’s intentions are not about democracy but about protecting infiltrators and securing their vote banks. According to him, their politics of appeasement and dependency on illegal immigrants is aimed at capturing power by unfair means.
Attack on Constitutional Institutions
The BJP leader further accused the Congress and its allies of consistently undermining India’s constitutional institutions. He reminded that these parties had questioned the Supreme Court verdict on the Ram Mandir, insulted the Army Chief by calling him names, and even demanded evidence after the Air Strikes and Operation Sindoor. Patra said that for them, the Prime Minister’s chair is a throne of entitlement rather than one earned through service.
Dismissal of Opposition Campaigns
Taking a dig at Congress’s ongoing yatras and campaigns, Patra said they will yield no results, branding them as acts of desperation. He ridiculed the Gandhi family as one that has looted the nation and is now accusing the Election Commission of theft. He added that the Commission had already provided a detailed technical rebuttal of Rahul Gandhi’s allegations in its press briefing.
Support from Other BJP Leaders
Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju also weighed in, asserting that the Election Commission is a constitutional authority and the Congress must present its concerns directly to it. He said that if the Commission asks for documents from Congress, it is the party’s responsibility to comply. Instead, Rijiju accused Congress of routinely abusing the Election Commission, the Supreme Court, and other constitutional bodies. He remarked that the Congress has lost the people’s trust and will never return to power because it insults the very institutions that uphold democracy.
