New Delhi, Feb 27:  On Sunday morning, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Jagat Prakash Nadda’s Twitter account was hacked, with multiple tweets calling for bitcoin donations to support Russia and Ukraine.

A now-deleted tweet requested bitcoin donations for Ukraine, while another tweet claimed the account had been hacked and that the payments were intended for Russia because they were the ones who “needed aid.”

“Stand with the people of Russia. Now accepting cryptocurrency donations. Bitcoin and Ethereum,” the tweet read.

Despite the fact that the account appears to have been recovered, the BJP has yet to publish a statement regarding the hacking.

The government is aware of the incident, according to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, minister of state for electronics and technology, who informed news agency that the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) is looking into it.
