Ranchi, Mar 23: The BJP expressed deep concern over deteriorating law and order conditions in Ranchi marked by two back-to-back incidents where an elderly woman Malvika Sinha was stabbed to death a few days back and in another case on Tuesday evening a medical student Rohit was shot in the head.

Former minister and BJP MLA from Ranchi assembly seat CP Singh raised this matter during the first half of the budget session of the assembly on Wednesday. “The law-and-order conditions in Ranchi have completely collapsed. A student was in his head. The police were standing as a mere spectator when the brawl was going on. A few days back a woman was murdered,” CP Singh said and urged the Speaker to take note of his concerns.

In both cases, Ranchi Police is said to have made a breakthrough but the BJP MLA said that the government has failed to protect life and limbs of people.

“What purpose and utility we are serving here as the public representative when we are unable to do anything,” CP Singh said. He said that the boy is in critical condition and he visited him at the hospital. Later on, he said that the state government took urgent steps to improve policing and law and order in the state capital.

Rohit, a medical student was shot in the head twice at Devi Mandap Road under Sukhdeonagar police station. He is the son of Dr Ajit Kumar who is a senior RSS functionary.
