Ranchi, Sept 22: Ranchi police have said that Jitram Munda, rural district president of BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha, was shot dead by bike-borne criminals on Wednesday due to old enmity. The police are engaged in the further investigation of the case.
The criminals carried out this incident on Wednesday evening when Jitram was having tea with Rajkishore while sitting at a hotel in Ormanjhi’s Chutupalu. After carrying out this incident, the criminals fled towards Ranchi by bike. The deceased Jitram was a resident of Pundag village of Ormanjhi.
According to information, after returning from a programme, Jitram was sitting with his friend Rajkishore in Aryan Hotel in Palu. Meanwhile, two criminals arrived on the bike. A criminal was standing on the other side of NH with his bike. The second criminal crossed the road and reached Jiiram sitting in the hotel and opened fire from behind. The bullet emanated from the chest through Jitram’s neck, which hit Rajkishor’s finger. After which the criminal crossed the path while running and escaped towards Ranchi with his companion on the bike. Others present in the hotel hurriedly took both of them to Medanta Hospital, where doctors declared Jitram dead.
