Dhanbad, May 4: The BJP MLA Raj Sinha would stage a demonstration at Randhir Verma Chowk tomorrow against deteriorating law and order in the district. The former chief minister and BJP legislative party leader Babulal Marandi would also participate in the agitation.
Rattled by the exodus of a senior doctor from the district over ransom demand and threatening calls from criminals, Sinha said that for the last two months extortion has been demanded from doctors, traders and industrialists but police are sitting hands tightened.
He said traders have been murdered but police have yet to trace and identify the criminals. One or two persons are picked up for formality.
“Since law and order have broken down completely in the district, before sitting on demonstration tomorrow, I would handover bangles at the office of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) either take the challenge of criminals or give police officials to wear bangles”, announced Raj Sinha while talking to media persons at his residence on Wednesday afternoon.
BJP MLA has taken serious note over the exodus of senior surgeon Dr Samir Kumar, who reportedly left Dhanbad on Tuesday along with family after criminals demanded Rs 1 crore extortion from him in the name of Aman Singh gang. Dr Samir runs Suyash Clinic on Matkuria road under Bank More police station.
“Dr Samir had been treating poor patients cheaply for the last 25 years. But it is unfortunate that he has to leave Dhanbad for safety,” he said.
BJP MLA alleged that Hemant Soren’s government has lost control of law and order completely not only in Dhanbad but also in the entire state. “So BJP has left no option but to descend on the road for waking up sleeping administration as well as government”, Raj Sinha said.
He called upon social activists, intellectuals, and political party leaders to come on one platform in the interest of coal belt denizens against Jungle Raj-2.
