VISHVENDU JAIPURIAR

Hazaribag, Oct 31: Two pregnant women brought to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital remained unattended for hours with doctors telling them to go somewhere else for C-section.

Getting information about this, Hazaribag sadar MLA of BJP Manish Jaiswal reached there and made doctors go for C-section. One woman who lost her child in the womb came here for a C-section but kept waiting and even suggested going to a private health centre. Jaiswal expressed anger over such negligent attitude of doctors.

Sources said Khirgaon resident Sonu Kumar Rajak brought his wife Khusbhoo Kumari to this hospital in labor pain. But doctors said they lacked anesthetist and so not possible to do a

C-section. Another case was of Gadokhar village in Katkamsandi block related to another pregnant woman. She was also asked to go somewhere else.

Sonu informed Jaiswal who reached the hospital and charged the hospital management for this negligence. On the initiative of Jaiswal, the C-section of Khusboo was performed and she gave birth to a healthy baby. A woman from Gadokhar lost her child in the womb. She came here in the afternoon but no one took care of her case in this hospital and waited for several hours till Jaiswal stepped in.  When the C-section going on, Jaiswal remained outside the OT standing there with relatives of the duo women.

Jaiswal charged the hospital management for such negligence and said service was better when it was a sadar hospital. After being upgraded as a medical college, this hospital has failed to provide better service to patients, he added. He said the government is spending funds in lakhs to decorate the hospital seeing the visit of health secretary Arun Kumar Singh. He said this hospital has all equipment but negligence resulted in deterioration of its service, he added. I will take up this matter on a suitable forum so that such an incident never takes place again, added he.
