Ranchi, Feb.17: The Jharkhand unit of Bharatiya Janata Party today took to the streets across the state and blew the trumpet of the movement against the brutal murder by Rupesh Pandey in Barhi.
In all the districts, thousands of workers hit the roads in the evening carrying torches and raised slogans against the state government. The BJP workers demanded capital punishment for those involved in the lynching of Rupesh.
Participating in the programme in Jharkhand, BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash made a strong attack on the state government.
“This government is involved in the politics of appeasement even in the case of mob lynching. The law and order situation in the state is deteriorating. The criminals are succeeding in killing whomever they want. The administration is proving to be a complete failure and useless. Whether it be women or tribal, or Dalits no one is safe in this state. So far more than 10 incidents of mob lynching have taken place in the state during the tenure of this government,” Prakash said.
Prakash said the administrative machinery was looking at the incident through a communal lens at the behest of the state government.
