Ranchi: BJP state spokesperson Ajay Sah has raised serious allegations against Jharkhand minister Hafizul Ansari, questioning the authenticity of his doctorate degree. Speaking at a press conference held at the state BJP office on Monday, Sah claimed that Hafizul Ansari obtained his doctorate from a fake university.
Degree from an Unrecognized Institution
Ajay Sah alleged that Ansari received his degree from the so-called “Bharat Virtual Open Educational University,” an institution that neither has the legal right to use the term “university” nor the authority to confer any academic degrees. Citing Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956, Sah emphasized that this institution is not recognized by the UGC, the Government of India, or even the Jharkhand Government.
Violation of Constitutional Norms
Sah claimed that after failing to earn a degree from a constitutionally recognized Indian university, Hafizul Ansari turned to a fraudulent institution allegedly operating under Sharia law practices to obtain a Ph.D. He described the so-called university as merely a “paper entity” without any legitimate standing.
International Link Allegations
Ajay Sah further alleged that the fake university claims affiliation with the “Central Christian University, Africa.” Upon deeper investigation, he claimed, it was found that the chancellor of this African university, Dr. Usman, had himself received a professor title from an institution based in Islamabad, Pakistan. Sah suggested that Minister Ansari’s entire degree network appeared to have links to Pakistan.
Priority to Sharia Law Over Constitution?
Sah accused Minister Hafizul Ansari of prioritizing Sharia law over the Indian Constitution in his conduct and decision-making. He asserted that when such serious allegations arise against a state minister, it becomes not just a personal issue but one concerning the state’s reputation and constitutional values.
Demand for High-Level Probe
Ajay Sah demanded a high-level investigation into the alleged Pakistan connection in this matter. BJP state spokesperson Rafia Naz was also present at the press conference.
