Ranchi, March 20:  The BJP legislators today staged a sit-in demonstration outside the assembly demanding recruitment policy. They were of the opinion that the Hemant government has played a cruel joke with the youth of the state in the name of local policy.

After the session began, BJP MLA Neelkanth Singh Munda raised the issue of OBC reservation. He said in the district level reservation roster published yesterday there are five districts where the OBC category has been reduced to zero. He wanted to know from the government whether there was no OBC persons in those five districts, including Khunti and Simdega.

During the question hour, the issue of promotion of class IV employees was also raised by legislator Amit Mandal. Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam assured that Class IV employees will soon be promoted to class III.

The issue of identification of those participating in the Jayaprakash movement besides agitation for Jharkhand or Vananchal separate state was also raised in the house.  BJP legislator Viranchi Narayan raised the issue saying names of many people who participated in the agitation under the name Vananchal were dropped. On which minister Alam assured that irrespective of the name of the movement for a separate state, everyone will be identified and a process for the same is going on.

BJP legislator Manish Jaiswal pointed out how the state government is not paying proper attention to trial cases related to POCSO, Cyber and NDPS Act in the last three years. He said till date in Hazaribagh and other districts of the state, the government has not been able to appoint special public prosecutors to punish those guilty of violating these acts, due to which the hearing of these cases is being affected.

Minister Alam said that during the last three years, 3388 cases have been registered in the state under POCSO Act, 2972 in Cyber and 1644 under the NDPS Act. Together, a total of 8004 cases have been registered. He also admitted that due to non-appointment of special public prosecutors, trial of cases is being affected. Special Public Prosecutors have been appointed in Palamu, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Ranchi and Deoghar under the POCSO Act. Recruitment at other places is under process.
