PATNA: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav made a bold prediction on Wednesday, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will face defeat in both the Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly elections. Rejecting claims of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) forming governments, Lalu Yadav declared that the next governments in both states would be led by the INDIA coalition.
Commenting on allegations against BJP leader Vinod Tawde, Lalu accused the BJP of resorting to unethical tactics in poll-bound states. “People are watching everything. BJP’s defeat is inevitable,” he remarked.
RJD’s Stakes in Jharkhand
For Lalu and his son Tejashwi Yadav, these elections hold significant importance as they aim to expand the party’s influence beyond Bihar. In the second phase of voting, the RJD has fielded candidates in two key constituencies: Deoghar and Godda.
Key Constituencies and Candidates
•Deoghar Assembly Constituency: BJP’s Narayan Das is facing a tough battle against RJD’s Suresh Paswan.
•Godda Assembly Constituency: RJD candidate Sanjay Prasad Yadav is challenging BJP’s Amit Kumar Mandal. Sanjay Yadav, who previously served as the MLA for Godda from 2009 to 2014, is making a strong bid to regain the seat. Tejashwi Yadav has actively campaigned for Sanjay, while Lalu Yadav released a video message urging voters to support the RJD candidate.
Grand Alliance Hopes
Lalu Yadav confidently stated that the INDIA coalition is poised for a significant victory in both states. He emphasized that the public is dissatisfied with BJP’s governance and corruption and will choose the grand alliance for better governance and development.
