Bodies of woman and five-year-old recovered from Chhadwa Dam in Hazaribagh

Ramgarh, June 14: Bodies of a 28-year-old woman, identified as Safina Khatoon, and her 5-year-old child have been recovered late on Monday evening from Chhadwa Dam under Pelawal OP police station area of Hazaribagh district. Safina was a resident of Pelawal.

People who went for a walk towards the dam spotted the dead bodies floating in the dam. On receiving the information, the station in-charge Abhishek Kumar Singh and DSP Rajiv Kumar immediately reached the spot, fished out the bodies from the water and took possession of it.

Later, the bodies were sent to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital Hazaribagh for post-mortem.

Hazaribagh SP Manoj Ratan Chothe said, “Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide after a dispute with husband. But keeping every aspect in mind, we have started an investigation.”
