Jamshedpur, Sept 13: The body of a 28-year-old youth was recovered from the Komroda river under Bandhgaon thana area in West Singhbhum on Wednesday. It was identified as Saurabh Singh of Ranchi.
A resident of the Chutiya Thana area of Ranchi, Saurabh on Saturday had been swept away in the strong current of water at the Perba Ghagh fall in Khunti district.
The youth who would work in a private firm at Ranchi had gone on a picnic trip to the Perba Ghagh fall along with four of his friends.
During the trip, the youths who were in a jubilant mood had ventured into the fall intending to take a bath in the fall’s water. But the youths went over close to the fall for taking a plunge in the fall water, and a strong wave of water came downstream, causing one of them to get swept away. Saurabh Singh fell victim to it.
The companions of the drowning victim had lodged an FIR with a police station in Khunti district after making abortive attempts to search Saurabh.
On Wednesday morning when a section of villagers were fishing in the Komroda river along Bandhgaon, they spotted a body. The villagers soon informed the Bandhgaon police who in the course of investigation established the identity of the deceased to be that of Saurabh Singh of Ranchi.
