Body of martyred CRPF officer Shanti Bhushan Tirkey reaches Ranchi

Ranchi, Feb 13: The body of CRPF Assistant Commandant Shanti Bhushan Tirkey, a resident of Simdega, reached Ranchi airport on Sunday morning. Notably, he died in an encounter that took place between police and Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

After the arrival of the body at Ranchi airport, the whole airport resonated with the slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The body of Shanti Bhushan has been taken to the CRPF camp where the top officers of CRPF and police including the Governor and Chief Minister of the state will pay their last respects to him. The last rites of martyr Shanti Bhushan will be held in Ranchi itself.  Its preparations are being done by CRPF and Jharkhand Police.

Assistant Commandant Shanti Bhushan, was originally a resident of Kasira village of Bolba block of Simdega district.  But his entire family was living in the Dibdih area of Ranchi for many years.  Martyr Shanti Bhushan Tirkey’s father retired from BSF and was living in Ranchi.  After posting in Chhattisgarh, the martyr’s wife Pushpa Tirkey, 10-year-old son Aniket and two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Anisha were living with their grandfather in their house in Ranchi.
