New Delhi, Dec 13: The Bombay High Court declined to consider the bail request of Nawab Malik, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party, in connection with a case involving money laundering. The hearing has been postponed by the court until January 6.
The former Maharashtra minister’s health is the subject of a court order directing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to respond within two weeks.
After a special court in this location denied Malik’s bail application on November 30, his bail petition was submitted on Monday.
On February 23, the ED detained Nawab Malik in connection with a property transaction that was allegedly connected to Dawood Ibrahim’s associates, a wanted criminal.

In September, the ED submitted a petition to the PMLA court asking for the creation of a medical board to assess Malik’s health. Malik had been a patient in a private hospital in Mumbai’s Kurla neighbourhood for more than four months.
At the meanwhile, Nawab Malik’s transportation to the hospital can be arranged, according to a plea that the Arthur Road Jail Administration submitted in the PMLA Court.
