Dhanbad  April 2: Braving sultry heat, Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj  Sinha today sat on dharna for hours in Bhuli Township of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) demanding immediate installation of an electric transformer in B’ Block.
Sinha rued that despite the assurance of the BCCL chairman cum managing director (CMD), director (personnel) and other senior officers, the coal company management failed to install a transformer in its power substation in Bhuli Township.
“Over 10,000 residents have been without power for the last seven days in this unbearable hot weather. Despite repeated information and requests, the BCCL top brass has not woken up to install a transformer in its power sub station.  Now I would not move from the dharna spot till people are getting  power supply,” said Sinha.

Criminals stole the transformer of Bhuli ‘B’ Block power sub-station on March 25. Taking cognizance of residents’  plight without power in the township, MLA Raj Sinha directly talked to the CMD and other senior officials of BCCL  and requested them to bail them out. The coal company officers assured him to install the transformer soon.
Today when the residents informed Sinha that the BCCL had not installed the transformer as per assurance even in seven days, he reached ‘B’ Block at around 12 noon and sat on dharna in front of the power sub station. However, after two and half hours ( around 2.30 PM)  he called off the indefinite dharna on the assurance of BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta. The CMD  assured him to  install it within 48 hours.
