Pernambuco, July 9: A dilapidated building collapsed in Brazil’s northeastern state of Pernambuco. In this accident, 14 people including six children died in the building. Homeless people took shelter in this building and all were living in it for more than a decade although living there was restricted since 2010. City officials also raised the issue during a recent visit by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Fire personnel gave this information.
According to the fire brigade personnel, the rescue team searched the debris with the help of sniffer dogs and pulled out two 15-year-old girls and a 65-year-old woman alive. Along with this, an 18-year-old youth injured in the accident was also taken out. But later he died. The people living in it have been taken out. Now the work of removing the cattle from the debris is being done.
