Ranchi, Oct 4: BS-IV vehicle owners have decided to file a case against dealers of Jharkhand in the consumer forum for not getting the registration done by the respective dealers of different districts of the state.
It has come to notice that registration of around 200-300 vehicles including two-wheelers and four-wheelers of BS-IV model in every district of the state is pending.
“I had purchased the Bajaj pulsar 125cc before March 31,2020 on EMI and have also paid the loan but still the registration of my vehicle is pending. I am going to lodge an FIR against the negligence of the dealer in the consumer court,” a vehicle owner said.
On the current issue, District Transport Officer (DTO) Ranchi, Praveen Kumar Prakash said that following the apex court order of August 13, 2020, the registration portal was opened accordingly and now the vehicles which are still not registered are mere scraps.
“Action will be taken according to the rules if such unregistered vehicles are found running on the road,” he further added.
Talking to different dealers they said that papers were submitted to respective RTOs for registration but the portal remained closed because of which registration could not happen.
“I have personally monitored after the sale of the vehicles for registration, but registration portal was not opened for BS-IV models,” a Bajaj dealer said.
