Punjab, Dec 23: A drone entering India from Pakistan through the international border in the Amritsar sector, Punjab, was shot down by the Border Security Force (BSF) troops at 7:45 am on Friday.

“BSF officials detected a Pakistani drone intrusion near the border outpost at Pulmora in Amritsar sector at 7:45 am on Friday. The drone was brought down and a search is on in the area for the consignment it may have brought,” said a BSF spokesperson.

This is the third straight day that the border-guarding force has shot down a drone in Punjab.

The drone is six-feet-long and has a battery capacity of 25,000 mAh. It can carry a load of 25 kg and has a release mechanism for dropping the payload.

Earlier, a Pakistan drone was recovered on Thursday after it was shot down by BSF personnel in the Khemkaran area of the Tarn Taran district. Before that, on Wednesday, a drone was spotted lying along the border in Pakistani territory by a BSF personnel posted at the Daoke border outpost. The drone had tried to sneak into Indian territory when the BSF personnel opened fire on it on Tuesday night.
