Jamshedpur, March 25: BSNL has set a target of providing 60,000 Fibre -to- the- Home ( FTTH) connections in Jharkhand. The service is also known as Bharat Fibre.
Out of 60,000 connections, a target of 30,000 connections has been given to Jamshedpur Business Area which has been the torchbearer of FTTH services in the Jharkhand circle.
The chief general manager of BSNL’s Jharkhand circle K K Singh who was in steel city for attending a review meeting analysed the performance of FY 2021-22 and the targets for FY 2022-23.
During the financial year, 2021-22 Jamshedpur BA has given 7,265 FTTH connections out of 17433 connections provided by Jharkhand circle which is 41 per cent.
Jamshedpur Business Area is having 10,969 FTTH connections and is only the 5th Business Area in the eastern zone with more than 10,000 connections, the other four are Port Blair, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack and Kolkatta.
In January, Jamshedpur BA stood second in the eastern zone with exceptional contributions from M/s SBP Enterprises and M/s Vastav Industries. M/s. SBP Enterprises was also adjudged the winner in the Jharkhand circle.
BSNL played the main infrastructure provider along with its business partner M/s. Shankar Infotech which provided the internet leased lines for uninterrupted streaming of live matches.
Even though the private operators restored to a hike in a tariff last year BSNL continues to provide its services at affordable and most competitive rates.
The subscribers have reposed their faith in BSNL and this is evident from the increasing subscriber base and market share.
At an all India level the monthly SIM sale has doubled from the figure of 11.5 lakhs to around 24 lakhs.
Jharkhand circle has managed to quadruple its monthly SIM sales from 15,000 to around 56,000 per month.
Jamshedpur BA has also increased the monthly SIM sales from 3000 to around 8800 per month.
