New Delhi, March 15: The opposition MPs have made the decision to lead a protest march today from Parliament House to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office and present the organisation with their complaint regarding the Adani issue. Given the protest march, there was evidently heavy security present at Vijay Chowk as well as in front of the ED office.
The third day of Parliament saw a continuation of the impasse between the BJP and the Opposition as they traded jabs over accusations against the Adani group and Rahul Gandhi’s comments in London. Amid the ruckus, both Houses were adjourned till 2 pm on Wednesday.
In the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, BJP members chanted for Rahul to apologise, while the opposition, led by the Congress, carried signs with quotes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches during his foreign trips.
Leader of the House and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, without naming Gandhi, alleged in the Rajya Sabha, that he had insulted the Parliament and constitutional institutions and said he should tender an apology. Notably, during a recent UK visit, Rahul Gandhi had said that the Indian democracy is under attack and there was a full-scale assault on the country’s institutions.
