Deoghar, Oct 17: A group of ten masked men entered the house of a businessman and decamped with cash and jewellery worth more than Rs 13 lakhs in Passor village under the Devipur police station area on Monday late evening.

According to a family member, all were masked with arms in the hands of every man. Firstly, they held them captive and damaged the DBR box of the CCTV fixed in the house and started collecting the valuables and cash kept in the house.

They also smashed the son of the landlord Baleshwar Mandal and were abusing in the local language. Although the locals tried to catch them to get information about the incident, the robbers fired shots at them.

A local said that when they went after the dacoits, they were attacked with a ‘Bhujali’ first and then fired upon too. Hence, the locals had to retreat.
