Cabinet nod to 4% DA hike for central govt employees

New Delhi, Oct 18: A 4% rise in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central government employees and a 4% increase in Dearness Relief for pensioners was approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday.

Anurag Thakur, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, briefed the media on the decisions made by the union cabinet and stated that they will come into effect starting July 1st of this year (2023).

“Dearness Allowance for Central government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners has been increased by 4 per cent. The DA hike will be implemented from 1, July 2023,” he said.

This decision will raise the DA for central government employees from the current 42% to 46%.

48.67 lakh Central Government Employees and 67.95 lakh Pensioners will benefit from the decision.

The minister stated that both central government employees and pensioners will benefit from the decision, which was made during the festive season.
