New Delhi, April 8: Sukanya Mondal, daughter of TMC politician Anubrata Mondal, has been called in for interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) a third time regarding an alleged cattle smuggling case in West Bengal. She was to be questioned on sizable unexplained assets and bank accounts connected to the case that directly related to her.
Sukanya Mondal, a primary school teacher employed by the state government, is the registered owner of sizable real estate. She had already been called by the central investigation agency, but she did not show up. Sources claim that the ED had given Sukanya Mondal a summons through email requesting that she appear in person before the investigating officer at the ED headquarters in Delhi the following week.
Sukanya Mondal might face serious consequences from the ED if she skips work for a third time in a row, according to sources.
Anubrata Mondal, the TMC’s president for the Birbhum district, was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on November 17, 2022, so they could question him about his role in the cattle smuggling case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had chosen him for interrogation in the same cattle smuggling case, arrested Anubrata Mondal and placed him in judicial custody.
Sukanya Mondal was summoned when TMC leader Anubrata Mondal was taken into custody by ED in Delhi in November of last year, but she did not show up.
