Ranchi, Mar 2: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the registration process for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2022 on Wednesday. The registration portal is now live and candidates can apply at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
As per a notification released earlier, the JEE Main 2022 will be organised in two sessions – April and May. NTA will release the JEE Main 2022 application form separately for all sessions. Along with the notification, NTA has also released the exam dates, eligibility, pattern, syllabus and other details on the official website.
Notably, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on March 1 announced schedules for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 according to which there will be two sessions of the exam this year – the first one from April 16 and April 21 and the second session from May 24 to May 29. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) term 2 exams will begin from April 26, four days after JEE Main 2022 session 1.
Some students have complained that the term 2 exams of CBSE are sandwiched between the two JEE Main attempts and they won’t have enough time to prepare for both. Some also took to social media to voice their complaints.
‘It’s not fair for the NTA to give such dates for JEE Main 2022. Candidates who are in 12 Class have a huge disadvantage and how can we just prepare for JEE before and after boards. It’s a total waste of our attempt,’ Pulkit Singh, a 12th student has said.
“#PostponeJEEMain2022 JEE22 Aspirants spent 2yrs online with mere to no guidance, many of them couldn’t prepare right due to Covid. There are several boards happening across the country. CBSE students also have Term2 boards. Both the attempts of JEE Main sandwich Term2,” Singh’s friend has tweeted on social media.

“I request NTA to postpone JEE MAIN 2022 (April Slot) as it will be very inconvenient for students who are appearing for board examinations,” Swayam Thapak has said.
Another 12th student Mohit Gautam has said, “Both JEE Main first attempt, while CBSE and ICSE exams will be held in the third or fourth week of April. After this, the 2nd attempt of JEE Mains will be held in May. Is this a joke? Why have all papers been clubbed together? Either cancel the boards or provide extra time for JEE Mains.”
Notably, not only the CBSE, many other central and state boards will conduct Class 12 final exams in March-April, 2022. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) semester 2 exams will begin in the last week of April.
Notably, JEE Main 2022 will be conducted in 13 regional languages including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Students who have completed class 12 or its equivalent exam in the year 2020, 2021 or appearing for class 12 board exams in 2022 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2022. Furthermore, applicants who successfully qualify in JEE Main and rank among the top 2.5 candidates are eligible for JEE Advanced 2022.
