Ranchi, July 1: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) broke all previous records with a production of 15.68 MT and dispatch of 20.08 MT coal during the first quarter (April-June) of current fiscal 2022-23.
“CCL attained its best ever first quarter performance since its inception,” the company said in a statement. The overburden removal also stood at 29.12 Million Cubic Meter (MCuM) during the first quarter.
CCL’s coal production and other parameters are on an upward trend under the leadership of CMD PM Prasad and committed to meet energy requirements of the nation, it added.
Spread across eight districts of Jharkhand, CCL is one of the largest employers in Jharkhand and also undertakes numerous initiatives under its CSR for the welfare of the people of the state.
CCL CMD PM Prasad stated that the company under the leadership of Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi is committed to fulfill the energy demands of the nation. He expressed his gratitude to the Coal Secretary Dr Anil Kumar Jain, CIL Chairman Pramod Agarwal, Jharkhand government, district-level officials, trade union representatives and the other stakeholders for their support.
In previous FY 2021-22, CCL produced 68.85 Million Tonnes (MT) raw coal, which is an all time high for the company.
