Actress Celina Jaitly, who has been away from films for years, is back in the headlines after filing a domestic violence case against her husband Peter Haag. Court documents allege multiple forms of abuse and have triggered a major legal battle.
Celina Accuses Husband of Cruelty and Abuse
According to an ETimes report, Celina has filed a petition under provisions of the Domestic Violence Act in Mumbai’s Andheri Court. In her plea, she claims she faced physical, mental, sexual and financial violence from Haag. She also states that he prevented her from working, insulted her by calling her a maid, and restricted her access to her children. Celina, who is 47 and mother to three sons, has requested full custody of her children and uninterrupted rights to talk to them via phone and video calls.
Compensation and Maintenance Demands; Case Hearing on December 12
Celina argues that her husband’s behaviour caused serious damage to her career and income, and she is seeking ₹50 crore in compensation along with ₹10 lakh per month as maintenance. Following her petition, Andheri Court issued a notice to Peter Haag on November 21, 2025. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for December 12, 2025.
