New Delhi, Oct.28: In the face of worldwide threats of digital attacks, Central government has developed ‘Cyber Surakshit Bharat Program’ to train officials from states and the central government to confront cyber security concerns.

By September 2022, the Ministry of Information Technology hopes to have trained at least 600 officials from various state governments, ministries, departments, PSUs, technical teams of police and security agencies, and even banks.

The government opted to embark on this one-year training programme, according to officials, because of the imminent threats to cyber security.

The government is currently concentrating on training sessions for Chief Security Information Officers (CSIOs). Chief Technical Officers (CTOs) have, however, been included in the training.

After completing their training, the CSIOs and CTOs will conduct comparable training sessions in their respective ministries, departments, PSUs, and security agencies.

Apart from that, the government has designated 50 batch slots in which these officials will be trained for a week on cyber security, emerging technologies, the threat they pose, and the opportunity they present.

Data protection, typical attack strategies, incident handling and response management, and developing technology of risks and opportunities will all be covered by the CSIOs’ training.

They’ll also learn how to prevent cyber-attacks and service disruptions.

“As directed by Prime Minister (Narendra Modi), the training session is part of the Digital India programme. Not only is digitalisation crucial, but so is the other component of safety and security, especially in today’s world, when a single erroneous click on a link can sabotage an entire database “a source confirmed.

“This session intends to train officials in exactly this,” the person added. “Once taught, they will be given resources to replicate the seminars in their individual departments and ministries.”
